Description

The word "compact" is often associated with limitations, and in the world of sound reinforcement it often means compromises on functionality, connectivity or sound quality - and sometimes all three. Until now, choosing a compact mixer has almost always been a question of what you're willing to sacrifice to get the features you need in the space you have. The new DM3 series of mixers breaks this stereotype, offering excellent sound quality, quick and easy setup and operation, and professional-level features for live sound, streaming, live or home recording and music production - a combination unmatched in any other mixer of this size can be found. In an ever-changing world that continues to present new challenges but also opportunities, DM3 mixers give you the ability to do more than you ever imagined from a compact digital mixer.

New benchmark for compact digital mixing consoles

In 1987, Yamaha released the first digital mixing console (DMP7), ushering in a new era of mixing consoles that offered more functionality in a more compact design than their analog counterparts. Decades later, the DM3 series sets a new standard for compact mixing consoles. With its versatile features and extreme portability, it is an invaluable tool for a variety of applications and environments.

The DM3 series includes two models, the DM3 Standard and the DM3 - the first compact console fully compatible with Dante technology (DM3), enabling even faster and easier setup with multiple devices. Both consoles feature a multilingual user interface that can be configured to make operation simple and hassle-free for a wide range of users.

Take your DM3 series console to the gig, record and stream the audio, then take it home to edit in your DAW. Or you could use it as the main mixer for a small gig one day and as a sub-mixer for live streaming the next day - the possibilities are endless.

The ideal starting point for any audio engineering project is transparent, unadulterated sound. All Yamaha mixing consoles are based on this philosophy - with the clear aim of enabling the sound engineer to capture the sound on stage accurately and unadulterated and to add creative touches as required.

Despite its compact size, the DM3 series allows sample rates of up to 96 kHz and offers the perfect starting point for mixing, recording, live streaming or even installed applications.

Advantages of a digital mixer are ease of use and access to powerful functions and features that in an analog setup would require a more user experience and many additional devices. The DM3 series consistently follows the design philosophy "less is more". It uses a 9-inch touchscreen and a single Touch & Turn dial to control most of the console's functions, which can sometimes be reminiscent of the user experience of a smartphone.
