Description
The Pro Series replaces Takamine's most popular line of guitars, the Natural Series. Some features have been renewed and improved, of course the extensive selection of body shapes and the excellent price/performance ratio have been retained, which also makes these mostly handmade instruments made in Japan the first choice for every musician who wants a 100% stage-ready acoustic guitar with excellent playability looking for a moderate price! The instruments have solid cedar tops (Series 1 and 3) or solid spruce tops (Series 2). The body is bound and made of laminated sapele mahogany, with the Series 3 the back is also solid. The mahogany neck of all guitars has a rosewood fretboard with 20 frets and dot inlays, the Series 3 uses gold-plated tuners. Traditionally, the bridges are equipped with two-part bridge inlays, which ensure exact tuning. All guitars have a satin finish, Series 1 and Series 2 tops have a high gloss finish. All guitars are shipped in a solid Takamine case.
The CT4B is an easy-to-use and very warm-sounding preamp with volume, 3-band equalizer and additional integrated tuner. The pitch function of the chromatic tuner allows the pitch A to be adjusted from 438 to 445Hz, so that the guitar can also be tuned to instruments that cannot be tuned. Due to the chromatic structure, open tunings are no problem, nor is tuning with a mute signal (mute function).
The true values lie within. This sentence probably nowhere applies more than with a good acoustic guitar. Of course she should look beautiful. But even more important is their tone - and that comes from within. Takamine uses top quality tonewoods for all instruments. The bracings are optimized for the respective model and are "hand-voiced" on all top models. The butterfly patch stabilizes the X-bracing in the center and transfers the energy to the outside. This enables slimmer beaming in the key areas of the sound - with the effect of a more actively vibrating ceiling and thus a fuller tone. The electronics, which are perfectly matched to the instruments, underline Takamine's pioneering role in live sound. Due to its unique construction, the patented palathetic pickup transmits the instrument's tone more powerfully and stably than a traditional "under-saddle transducer".
The Nex body is a Takamine proprietary development. The top has a rounded profile that is narrow at the waist and flares out behind the bridge. The Nex offers a balanced frequency response with powerful bass, perfect highs and a rounded mid-range. In order to achieve the highest possible output volume, the body is just as deep as that of the dreadnought. The Nex conveys the feel of a mini-jumbo and is ideal for single-note playing.
